  What is Ride?
Ride is a rewards network that gives you points for travel.
  How does Ride work?
When you have Ride with you (installed on your phone), the app will record the number of miles you travel. Then, Ride automatically converts your miles into Ride points.
  What are Ride points?
Ride points are the currency of the Ride Rewards Program. They are redeemable for real rewards through Ride, such as gift cards to companies like Amazon, Starbucks, Redbox, etc.
  Does Ride drain my battery?
No. We’ve optimized Ride to use the least power while still giving you the most points. If you’re really concerned about your battery, consider turning off any unnecessary or unused functions, like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi when you aren’t using them.
How do I earn Ride points?
First, install Ride on your iPhone. Then, the next time you go anywhere, take your phone (and Ride) with you. Ride will keep a running total of how many miles you travel and convert them into Ride points. You can also get points by inviting your friends to join Ride.
How else can I earn Ride Points?
You can like us on Facebook (50 points) and post a picture of your Ride on our Facebook (50 points). You can also invite your friends to join Ride. We recommend staying up to date by following us on Facebook and Twitter – we’ve only been in the app store for about a month, and soon we’ll be rolling out new features and ways to earn Ride points.
How do I redeem my Ride points?
Open the Ride app, click the “Rewards” button in the bottom right corner, select the reward you want, and click “Redeem”. Your reward will be on its way to you shortly!
Don’t panic. You can earn several hundred points by getting a couple of friends to download Ride.
I invited a friend. Now what?
You should have received an instant 50 points just for sending the invitation. When your friend downloads Ride and connects with Facebook, you will receive an additional 250 points. When your friend redeems a reward for the first time, you’ll receive another 250 points.
My friends haven’t downloaded Ride. What should I do?
If they haven’t joined, you can remind them via a post to their FB wall. Alternatively, you can cancel the request and invite a new friend. You keep the 50 points for the original invitation, but you won’t receive any additional points if your friend joins Ride.
I should have received Ride points, but my odometer hasn’t changed. What’s going on?
Points can take up to 24 hours to credit to your account. If your points balance still hasn’t updated, please send an email to support at support@therideapp.com. Make sure you use the same email address that you use for facebook otherwise we won’t be able to find you in our system.
Does Ride work with an iTouch or iPad?
The iTouch and iPad are not currently supported by Ride.
Can I use my Ride account on more than one device?
No. Ride does not allow more than one device per account. You may, however, un-install Ride from a device and then install it on another.
Why do you ask for so many Facebook permissions?
We ask for Facebook permissions mainly for authentication purposes. When you redeem a reward, we use Facebook permissions to verify that you are the owner of the Ride account, and we also use Facebook to deliver Ride Rewards. We also ask for some information about your friends so that, when you invite your friends and they join Ride, we credit points to the right friend (you).
How do I log in if I don't have Facebook?
While you can earn points with Ride without connecting to Facebook, there is currently no other way to log in and redeem rewards. We use Facebook as an integral part of our verification process whenever you redeem a reward. This allows us to ensure that your rewards go to you, and only you. For this reason, we ask that you use your real Facebook account and not a duplicate.
Why does Ride ask that I enable location services?
We ask for location services so we can tell that you’ve moved from one place to another. If you’re concerned about your battery or privacy, we use a less accurate method for counting miles to preserve both battery and privacy.
It says you’ll deliver my reward via Facebook. How does that work?
When you redeem a reward, we’ll post a link to your wall. When you click on the link, you’ll be directed to the Ride Rewards Facebook app, which will show your reward, the code, and your entire redemption history. If you ever lose a gift code, you’ll be able to find it in the Facebook app.
Why can’t I log in to Facebook?
You should be able to log in to Facebook. If you can’t log in, you are most likely either experiencing a bug (and should contact support), outside of the U.S., or under 18 years of age. If you are outside the U.S. or under 18, please read the Terms and Conditions, which state that you must be 18 years or older and that Ride is unable to support international users at this time.
I want better mileage from Ride. Are you going to fix it?
Unfortunately, due to technology’s imperfections, it is unlikely that Ride will ever be 100% accurate. We will release an optional GPS mode that will significantly improve your mileage, however. If you are interested in being part of the beta test, please email simon.fryer@onmobilemedia.com.
My points aren’t updating. What do I do?!
First, refresh your points total. Just open the rewards screen and then switch back to the odometer. If that doesn’t work, try disconnected and re-connecting to Facebook within the app. If that still doesn’t update your points, please contact support immediately and let them know which of the above steps you have already taken.
I lost almost all of my points! How do I get them back?
Don’t panic. You most likely disconnected from your Ride account. Disconnect and re-connect to Facebook within the app, then refresh your points total by going to the rewards screen and then switching back to the odometer. If that doesn’t work, please contact support and let them know which of the above steps you have already taken.
  What are these “bonus opportunities”?
You can like us on Facebook (50 points) and post a picture of your Ride on our Facebook (50 points). We will also post challenges, competitions, contests, and sweepstakes on our Facebook page.
  Do points expire?
Points do not expire at this time. If you lost points, please contact support immediately in the Feedback area of the app.
  Will points expire?
Yes, and we will notify you before they begin to expire. Points will expire on a rolling basis, meaning that once a certain point is 28 days old, it will expire the next day. There will most likely be multiple ways to save your points from expiration, as well.
